The Vrroom Motor by Mattel was manufactured in 1962 and cost $6. Did you ever wonder how it worked inside? Remember, there were no electronics back then. severx2 bought this non-functional unit off of eBay and after drilling out a bunch of rivets, cutting through a lot of glued plastic, and fixing an inoperative motor, the world now has the privilege of seeing how one really works. In brief, a little wheel spins and four knobs whack a hard plastic speaker cone. Ingenious!! The toy designers were trying to imitate spokes whacking playing cards, so instead of re-inventing the wheel, they basically did the same thing. (and then packaged it inside a cool motor housing.
